Dealing with our own land and applying to our time, this is a portion of prophecy which should possess surpassing interest for every American reader. This work shows by conclusive arguments the position of which the United States government holds in prophecy, and the important part it is to act in the closing scenes of time. Issues are even now arising which it is of the greatest importance that all be prepared to meet.
The reason for this edition of Smith's Daniel and Revelation is the miss information concerning revision of it. Uriah Smith died March 6. 1903; therefore the 1907, 1912, ect., subsequent copyright dates could not be his revisions. This print date of 1904 is the last original unrevised 1897 of Daniel and the Revelation by him. Many Pioneer books have been revised such as: Haskells Seer of Patmos and Story of Daniel; J N Andrews History of the Sabbath, which is missing 6 chapters. The 1944 edition of Smith's D&R has been so revised it is not the same. Some say EG White endorsed this revision and they quote the following. Yet notice she is speaking of denominational books and not a private copyrighted work.
They say Uriah Smith was an Arian? That Uriah Smith was a jesuit? But what did *Ellen G White say in Defense of Uriah Smith, She places his book above hers. "I know of no other book that can take the place of this one. It is God's helping hand."--MS 76, 1901. {PM 356.2}
Note: One who claims to be a decendant of SN Haskell (yet has read but little of his work) says the reason a pioneer book drive took place was to send them to Africa. Why would they seek to remove these originals while selling only the corupted versions revised long after the authors death. The fact is these books have become harder to find even though there is now a modest independant effort to make them available instead of the Church leadership reproducing them for the world. In the following is seen just one on many warnings given by Ellen G White of why these pioneer books have disappeared to be replaced by spurious revised forms concieved by unconverted enemies of truth in leadership position in the SDA church.
"The interest in Daniel and the Revelation is to continue as long as probationary time shall last. God used the author of this book" in its uncorrupted-unrevised form "as a channel through which to communicate light to direct minds to the truth. Shall we not appreciate this light, which points us to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, our King?" {1MR 63.1}
